AMD Ryzen 7 7700 now available at $247

With Ryzen 9000 six weeks away, AMD is lowering the price of existing Zen4 processors.

AMD has lowered the price of its 8-core CPU, the Ryzen 7 7700, making it the cheapest 8-core processor for the new AM5 socket.

The non-X version of the 7700 launched in January 2023 at a price of $329. However, like most AMD processors at the time, this price did not last long, with the CPU retailing for around $300 until February. By the end of May, following the announcement of the Ryzen 9000 series, retailers had reduced the price to $270.

Currently, the Ryzen 7 7700 costs $246.98, which is the new MSRP across various retailers. This indicates a new price for this processor, which will soon face even stronger competition among AM5 SKUs.

Since the debut of the AM5 socket, AMD has launched five 8-core Zen 4 processors. This lineup includes the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, now priced at $339 (down from the official $449 MSRP), and the Ryzen 7 8700G, priced at $299 (down from $329), which also features Radeon 780M graphics based on the RDNA3 iGPU. For those seeking even cheaper options, there is the Ryzen 7 7700X at $273 or the Ryzen 7 8700F at $269 . Needless to say, the 7700 non-X is still the cheapest option.

Next month AMD is launching Ryzen 7 9700X which comes with 8 Zen5 cores. Given the current pricing of competing 8-core AM5 processors and the fact that AMD themselves confirmed 7800X3D will still be faster, then 9700X shouldn’t be much pricier.
