ASRock launches new RDNA2 graphics card
The tier with the smallest thickness.

Low-profile discrete graphics cards serve their purpose in systems that need video coding capability, whether it be an HTPC (Home Theater PC) or a streaming rig, but they have limited capability in gaming. The Radeon RX 6400, in particular, is not a powerful GPU. In fact, current-gen integrated graphics are almost as powerful as this graphics card, and the upcoming RDNA3.5 series from AMD is expected to surpass this Navi 24 XL-based model.
The RX 6400 offers 768 Stream Processors, which is a reduction from the 1024 cores on the full die. This card has a 64-bit memory bus (hence it launched with 4GB GDDR6 memory) and only supports a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface, severely limiting its capabilities. Moreover, it only has two display connectors by default because this GPU was primarily designed with laptops in mind.

ASRock has just launched a new version called RX 6400 Low Profile (RX6400 LP 4G), which comes with AMD reference specs of 2039/2321 MHz for game and boost clocks, respectively. This card is equipped with DisplayPort 1.4a and HDMI 2.1, and it does not require any external power connectors.
The only reason anyone should consider this card is when a low-profile GPU is needed. The card features a single-fan design and a half-height I/O bracket. It measures 150 mm x 68.9 mm. The card supports 0dB technology, meaning the fan won’t spin unless the card is in use.

The card is not yet listed by any store, so its pricing is unknown. The company also offers its Challenger ITX design, which currently retails for $125.
