Brazilian TecToy intros Zeenix Lite gaming handheld with dual-core Athlon and Zeenix Pro with Ryzen 7 6800U

TecToy Zeenix gaming handheld features Athlon and Ryzen APUs

Brazilian company TecToy is relaunching its gaming division and has announced new gaming hardware.

The company announced two gaming handhelds running Windows 11. These are primarily advertised as gaming devices, but they are also intended for work, school, and watching videos. However, the latter may be more convenient on a modern high-end phone, as both systems are equipped with a 6-inch 1080p screen, which isn’t the largest around.

The handhelds are called Zeenix, with versions named Zeenix Lite and Zeenix Pro . The main differences between them come down to the APU powering the systems, as well as memory and storage. The Lite model is equipped with an Athlon 3050E , an older dual-core CPU with Zen cores (codenamed Dali). This device has integrated Radeon RX Vega 3 graphics (3 CUs), which is hardly enough for 3D gaming but should suffice for some retro games.

The Pro version, on the other hand, comes with the much more capable Ryzen 7 6800U processor, an 8-core Zen3+ APU with 12 RDNA2 Compute Units. It is not as fast as modern Phoenix/Hawk Point variants due to an older graphics architecture, but it is still more than capable of running games at low resolutions. Ultimately, on a 6-inch screen, it will be difficult to see the difference between 720p FSR and native 1080p anyway.

Zeenix Lite:

  • Display : 6-inch 1080p 60 Hz
  • APU : Athlon 3050e (2 core/4 thread Zen & RX Vega 3)
  • RAM : 8GB
  • Storage : 256GB SSD
  • Connectivity : Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2

Zeenix Pro:

  • Display : 6 inches, 1080p and 60 Hz
  • APU : AMD Ryzen 7 6800U (8 core/16 thread Zen3+ & Radeon 680M)
  • RAM : 16GB
  • Storage : 512GB SSD
  • Connectivity : Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2

Both systems will come with Windows 11 Home preinstalled and will support WiFi 5 or WiFi 6, depending on the model. The company did not announce a release date or pricing, but they will participate in Gamescom LATAM, which starts later this week, so more news is expected soon.
