MSI might release a black version of their EXPERT graphics card

Pictures of a new EXPERT model appear online, but it is unclear if this is a retail model or a custom job.

Photos shared by hongxing2020 reveal the MSI RTX 40 EXPERT graphics card in a new black color scheme. Since MSI introduced the new push/pull air cooler design, an enhanced version of NVIDIA’s Founders Edition cooler, enthusiasts have been curious about the possibility of a black version of the gold-painted EXPERT.

If the photos in the article are indeed of the upcoming card, these expectations may soon be met. It appears there is a black version of the EXPERT featuring graphics from the game “Black Myth: Wukong.” The card is almost certainly an RTX 4080 SUPER because that’s the only EXPERT model released to date. There is technically also a non-SUPER, but that SKU is now discontinued.

MSI has not shared these photos on their social media, suggesting this might not be an official launch but rather a custom paint job. It’s common to see highly detailed customizations of existing cards by fans or professionals for users who want to make their expensive PC hardware stand out more.

Recently, MSI announced a new version of the RTX 4080 SUPER called the EXPERT FUZION , which features an integrated AIO cooler underneath the shroud. However, this model did not have any changes to the color scheme.

For now, it seems reasonable to assume this is not an official design. However, if MSI were to launch a black EXPERT design, it would certainly catch the attention of the GPU community. In fact, it is surprising it has taken this long for such a version to appear.
