MSI spec sheet shows RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Ventus 3X Black OC with AD102 GPU

NVIDIA might be adding a new variant of its RTX 4070 Ti SUPER. Reportedly, MSI has posted a datasheet that lists MSI RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Ventus 3X Black OC graphics cards with specs nearly identical to the existing Ventus 3X model. The only major difference is one photograph, which seemingly confirms it is not based on the AD103 GPU.
The RTX 4070 Ti SUPER came out in January and features the AD103-275 processor with 8,448 CUDA cores. This configuration was not used before, and the predecessor (non-SUPER) featured a different GPU entirely, the AD104-400. It turns out the XX70-class of GPUs will soon be offered with a third GPU called AD102, NVIDIA’s flagship processor for the Ada Lovelace series.
As revealed by @wnxod, MSI is preparing to launch a new card featuring the AD102-225 GPU. This GPU was not mentioned before and seems to be a replacement for the AD103-275 with (nearly) the same specs, at least on paper.
GeForce RTX 40 cards with non-standard GPUs
- GeForce RTX 4070 TI SUPER: AD103-275 → AD102-225 🆕
- GeForce RTX 4070: AD104-251 → AD103-175-KX
- GeForce RTX 4060 Ti: AD106-351 → AD104-150-KX
- GeForce RTX 4060: AD107-400 → AD106-255
According to MSI specs, this GPU will also feature 8,448 CUDA cores and will enable the same clock speeds as the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Ventus 3X (the silver edition) with the AD103 GPU.

Now, when it comes to the differences, the AD102-based model is slightly larger (322x136x62 mm vs. 308x120x52 mm) and weighs more (1,464g vs. 1,107g). The most significant change is the increase in power consumption from 285W to 295W, which is non-standard for this SKU.
One can easily identify which GPU is used by looking at the backplate; the capacitor layout clearly confirms it’s the AD102 model.

It is worth noting that GeForce RTX 40 cards with non-standard GPUs are often exclusively sold in certain regions and are typically not available in Western countries. Wnxod, who discovered the datasheet, also shared a GPU-Z screenshot from a different model (Inno3D). It appears that NVIDIA has indeed made a new variant of the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER.

So far, none of these cards are available for sale, so it is unclear if there are any other changes. The AD102 version of the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER joins the ranks of the RTX 4090 and RTX 4090D, the only gaming models NVIDIA currently sells with this GPU.
