ASUS confirms Ryzen AI 300 “Strix Point” launch on July 15th: Zen5 available in three weeks

AMD Zen5 launches July 15th

ASUS spills the beans on laptop availability.

What was previously touted by retailers has now been confirmed by ASUS. This laptop manufacturer operates its own online stores, wherein the majority of soon-to-be released laptops are also featured. It turns out some of those official storefronts already confirm when these systems will become available.

According to ASUS, their Zenbook S 16 (UM5606) OLED Laptop will ship “by 7/15.” This information is listed by several of ASUS’s regional stores, reaffirming the official launch date, at least from ASUS. However, one should note that this date does not apply to all systems and configurations.

AMD Zen5 launch dates

  • AMD Ryzen AI 300 “Strix Point” : July 15, 2024 ✅ Confirmed
  • AMD Ryzen 9000 “Granite Ridge” : July 31, 2024

This means that the first Zen5 processors will be available on July 15 at the earliest. Currently, AMD has not officially confirmed this date, nor has the company confirmed July 31 as the launch date for the Ryzen 9000 series for desktops. Interestingly, most of AMD’s 300-series laptops are available for preorder, although no reviews are available at this moment.

We are yet to learn the full details about the Ryzen AI 300 series, but AMD is expected to hold a special event for the press where such information will be shared in early July. Hopefully, this means that performance evaluations will be released before the launch date, allowing everyone to make an informed decision before buying these laptops. This was hardly and sadly the case with Qualcomm Snapdragon systems.
