MSI has a new BIOS for the upcoming Ryzen 9000 CPUs

The rumor has it, AMD 800-series motherboards are not expected to launch alongside the Ryzen 9000 series “Granite Ridge,” AMD’s new Zen5-based desktop CPUs. The exact launch date for these CPUs is not yet confirmed, but it appears that 800-series motherboards may launch in a few weeks or possibly months, but almost certainly not in time for the 9000 series.
Because of this, board partners are expected to release new BIOS updates for their 600-series motherboards ( AMD X670E, X670, B650, and A620 ). MSI announced a new AGESA Combo PI-1.2.0.0 BIOS today, which is said to deliver significant improvements and fixes for several issues ahead of the Ryzen 9000 series launch.
[..] We have made a few enhancements to the upcoming AMD Ryzen™ 9000 series CPU, focusing on stability and performance bug fixes. These fixes are to ensure that users will have a smooth and reliable performance with the new CPUs. Additionally, the update includes several compatibility improvements and workaround with NVIDIA’s RTX 40 Series graphics cards, especially the 4070 and 4060 GPUs, which were previously causing some instability issues.

The company also mentions some issues with GeForce RTX 4070 and 4060 GPUs, but it appears that those issues were under the radar, as we have not heard anything about such problems. Needless to say, it is great to see that MSI is releasing new BIOS updates before these issues were reported by more individuals.
The new firmware was released today and should already be available for most motherboards. If the product support page does not list the new BIOS, make sure to check MSI’s social media and regularly visit these pages for updates.
AMD Ryzen 9000 CPUs officially hit the shelves next month.
