Acer Swift 14 to get Ryzen AI 300 processor
Everyday laptop with a powerful AMD APU.
Not just the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Series but also the AMD Ryzen AI 300 will power the new generation of Acer Swift series. The new laptop has been spotted on Geekbench today, featuring AMD’s flagship Strix Point processor. In fact, this is one of the first entries featuring the full retail name.
Previously, the 12-core APU was identified by the AMD OPN engineering sample ID or under the Ryzen AI 9 HX 170 name. AMD has now rebranded it to the 300 series. Despite the name changes, the specifications remain the same. At least in this case, we can be sure it’s a full retail sample.
The HX 370 is a 12-core processor with 4 Zen5 and 8 Zen5c cores. It will boost up to 5.1 GHz and comes equipped with the XDNA2 AI processor, which is not subject to Geekbench testing. The software has been used to test the CPU core performance, where the processor scored 2689 points in single-core and 13515 points in multi-core tests.

The most important detail is missing, which is the system’s default TDP. Despite this, the CPU does come on top on Phoenix and Hawk Point based APUs with TDPs in the 28 to 45W range. It does appear to be slower than Intel’s flagship Core i9-14900HX processor or AMD’s own Dragon Range processors.
The Swift 14 AI model with Qualcomm processors weighs only 1.36 kg and ships with a 14.5-inch screen. The last-gen Meteor Lake version featured a 45W PL1 (default TDP), but there’s no information available on the full specs of Qualcomm’s model. However, the system did feature LPDDR5-8533 memory and was priced at $1099 (with a 10-core X-Plus). This suggests that the AMD version won’t be much cheaper in comparison as it also should feature LPDDR5X memory, but perhaps slower (7500 MT/s).
Unofficially, the AMD Ryzen AI 300 series will be available starting July 28. However, Acer typically releases their hardware a bit later.
