ACEMAGIC X1: “World’s first 360° dual-screen laptop” to feature Intel Core i7-1255U CPU

ACEMAGIC reveals the specs of X1

Not 13th but 12th Gen Core series.

Contrary to what was announced at Computex, the dual-screen laptop from ACEMAGIC will not be called Z1A, but X1. This is the name of the “world’s first 360° dual-screen laptop,” and as the name suggests, it does indeed have two screens.

Of course, such systems were already available. We have plenty of ASUS Zephyrus Duo laptops, but in those cases, the secondary screen is only half the size of the main screen. We also have dual-screen tablets with attachable keyboards, but those are not strictly speaking laptops, rather convertible devices.

ACEMAGIC X1:

  • CPU: Core i7-1255U (10-core/12-thread)
  • SCREEN : dual 14-inch Full HD
  • MEMORY: 16GB DDR4
  • STORAGE: 1TB PCIe Gen3 SSD

At Computex, GPD also showcased their own dual-screen laptop, which, unlike ACEMAGIC, has displays opening vertically and both are based on OLED. That system is aimed at enthusiasts who need more power, as the company announced it will use the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU, AMD’s latest and best processor, which will launch next month (though it is unclear if the laptop will launch at the same time).

ACEMAGIC has now confirmed that their laptop, called X1, will feature two 14-inch Full-HD screens. While the resolution is a bit low (1920×1200), this laptop is not designed for content creation or gaming. The company announced the X1 as a “business” laptop designed for “mobile business operations,” including video conferencing, data analysis, or multitasking. Users can display presentations on the other side of the laptop.

From the press release, we learn it will feature dual-channel DDR4 memory with a 16GB capacity and 1TB of PCIe 3.0 SSD storage. These are not high-end specs, and neither is the 15W i7-1255U processor, which has two P-Cores and eight E-Cores (10-core CPU) from the Alder Lake series. Worth noting that earlier press release mentioned Core i7-1265U and LPDDR4-3200 memory, if we are not sure if there has been a downgrade in specs, but the new PR no longer mentions such specs.

The X1 does not have a release date yet, nor has the company confirmed pricing. However, we have already reached out for further details and will update this post if that information becomes available.
