Minisforum intros Intel Ultra 5 125H Mini-PC with OCuLink and physical Copilot button

Cheaper than AtomMan X7 Ti

Minisforum are introducing a brand new Mini-PC featuring Intel Meteor Lake.

Minisforum has a new Mini-PC called UH125 Pro. This system is not part of the AtomMan series, which already features a very similar-looking system called X7 T i, currently the flagship device in the entire Minisforum series. As the name suggests, UH125 Pro will feature the Intel Core Ultra 5 125H processor, a 14-core SKU with 18 threads and a maximum boost of 4.5 GHz.

First, we need to talk about the similarities between X7 Ti and UH125 Pro. They appear to be the same size (Minisforum does not provide the exact dimensions) and both PCs seem to have the same cooling design. This means a single large diameter fan, phase-changing thermal pads, and a 3-heatpipe system. There’s no mention of the 65W mode either (supported by AtomMan), though. The company claims it “can achieve 65W stable performance” without mentioning if that’s a power mode or just heat dissipation capacity.

Like the AtomMan, this system gets OCuLink support , which seems to be a standard among Minisforum PCs, even more so after the company announced its dedicated GPU dock. Additionally, the UH125 Pro supports DDR5-5600 memory (SO-DIMM) and can be upgraded to 96GB (the only system offered has either zero or 32GB configuration).

Compared to AtomMan, the UH125 Pro will not feature a dedicated touch screen, which was possibly the coolest feature of the higher-end device. There is also no video cam and no stand (the AtomMan could be placed horizontally for video conferencing). Those who liked the WiFi 7 support feature should also know that this device has WiFi 6E support only.

What’s new is the physical Microsoft Copilot button, placed on the opposite side of the power button. We are not sure why this button was added because Meteor Lake is not officially a Copilot+ architecture, and only the just-launched Qualcomm Snapdragon X Series has such a button. It is soon coming to Intel Lunar Lake and AMD Strix Point laptops, so perhaps Minisforum will be using the same chassis for their Lunar Lake system.

The pricing is much better than X7 Ti, as the UH125 Pro retails at $439 for the barebone setup and $639 for the 32GB/1TB setup. This is around $210-$230 cheaper than AtomMan.

According to Minisforum the system will start shipping in early August.
