ASRock Radeon RX 7900 Creator Series to feature blower fan and 12V-2X6 connector

ASRock renames Radeon 7900 WS series to Creator Series

New cards were introduced at Computex, but they might be introduced with a new name.

ASRock has seemingly rebranded its new graphics cards as the Creator series, previously known as the RX 7900 XTX WS and RX 7900 XT WS. Unveiled last month, these cards are designed for multi-GPU clusters, making them ideal for AI inference, generative AI, and professional workstation applications.

Both cards are equipped with a blower-type cooling solution, are dual-slot, and feature a vapor chamber, according to the official Computex press release.

Worth noting, these are also ASRock’s first (and the world’s first) Radeon GPUs with the new 16-pin power connector (12V-2X6), which was previously exclusive to the GeForce RTX 40 series.  It is not yet confirmed whether ASRock will supply these cards with the optional adaptor. Currently, all RTX 40 cards are equipped with such a cable.

ASRock’s GPUs are based on the consumer (gaming) variants of Navi 31. The RX 7900 XTX has the same core count as the Radeon PRO W7900 but is equipped with half the memory capacity (24GB vs. 48GB) and it doesn’t support the DisplayPort 2.1 standard at full UHBR20 mode like the PRO model. In many cases, especially for generative AI, it is possible to save a lot of money by switching to Radeon RX models and ASRock is well aware of that fact.

ASRock has not yet confirmed the pricing for its Creator series. The company is preparing to introduce these cards through their website, but no further information is available at this time.
