ROG NUC launches in two configurations
It is finally officially released.

ASUS has unveiled the ROG NUC 970 and ROG NUC 760, marking the brand’s entry into the NUC space within its Republic of Gamers family. ASUS, now in charge of NUC product development after taking over from Intel, has beefed up the NUC lineup with high-end gaming systems featuring the Core Ultra 100 series. These new models also integrate GeForce RTX 40 gaming laptop GPUs.
The specifications are indeed impressive. The two configurations offer either the Core Ultra 9 185H or Core Ultra 7 155H , both boasting 16 cores but differing in clock speeds. While the integrated Arc graphics are present, a highlight is the discrete GPU options: either the RTX 4070 Laptop GPU or the RTX 4060.

The ROG NUC supports up to 64GB of DDR5 memory, capable of reaching speeds up to 5600 MT/s. Storage options include space for at least three PCIe 4.0 2280 SSDs. The design features Thunderbolt 4 connectivity and multiple USB ports, with display options including HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4.
Gaming, redefined
Featuring Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 or Intel Core Ultra 7 processors and NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4070 or 4060 discrete graphics, the ROG NUC PC is a compact powerhouse that delivers unmatched gaming experiences. The high-performance hybrid architecture of Intel Core Ultra processors provides gamers with the power needed to stream, edit, record and play without skipping a beat. The 2.5-liter chassis is designed for quick system access to make upgrades and cleaning easy. Plus, the compatible ROG Raikiri Pro controller can be used to deliver a console-like experience for gamers seeking uncompromised performance and flexibility in a compact form factor.

The ROG NUC 970 and ROG NUC 760 are priced at $2199 for the 185H version and $1629 for the 155H model. This makes them really expensive, and the timing of their release is bit complicated. Both Intel and AMD have already announced their new architectures, but since these products are primarily aimed at gamers, this might not be as significant an issue.
ASUS ROC NUC series pricing
- ROG NUC 970 : $2199 Core Ultra 9 185H, 32GB DDR5, 1TB SSD, RTX 4070
- ROC NUC 760 : $1629 Core Ultra 7 155H, 16GB DDR5, 512GB SSD, RTX 4060
ASUS will no doubt keep making ROG NUCs, so the spirit of Intel Canyon series will not be lost. However, it really wouldn’t hurt if they were cheaper.
