Streacom FC8 case with AM5 APU
A Japanese retailer is now offering a Mini-PC equipped with a fanless chassis compatible with latest AMD AM5 processors.
Designing a Mini-PC without fans is a complex task, but more power-efficient architectures have allowed some companies to experiment with this idea. However, due to heat dissipation requirements, such systems often require larger chassis than typical NUC or Mini-PC systems. So perhaps this product should be better described as a Compact PC, as it measures 240x250x100 mm.
The PC sold by Oliospec is equipped with the Streamcom FC8 chasis, which is a full aluminum design that can host a desktop motherboard. The FC8-system will be available with the Ryzen 8000G APU series, which is a good choice considering this system has no support for discrete graphics, though the board has a PCIe x16 connector.

Currently, the only available option is the Ryzen 5 8500G, a Zen5/Zen5c processor with 6 cores. Unlike the 8600G, which offers Radeon 760M graphics with 8 CU cores, this Ryzen SKU has less capable graphics, featuring Radeon 740M with 4 Compute Units.
The system includes an ASRock B650I Lightning Mini-ITX board, supporting up to 96GB of DDR5 6000 memory. With integrated Wi-Fi support, the system also has a 2.5GbE Ethernet port, dual M.2 NVMe SSD support, and offers HDMI 2.1 for display output.
Heat dissipation with heat pipes and case heat sink
The Ryzen 8000G series has a default CPU temperature setting of 75°C. Even under load, it will not exceed this set temperature, making fanless operation safe. The CPU’s heat is transferred to the side heat sink of the case through four heat pipes for cooling.

Streacom FC8 is not a new case, on a contrary, it was announced in 2015 and has been sold ever since. It’s a popular case among SFF (Small Form Factor) PC builders and has been presented by many reviewers at this point. Thanks to the adjustable mounting mechanism, the case supports all sorts of modern sockets, including LGA1700 and AM4 (however, this only applies to newer units sold after 2019). However, some systems may require different heatpipes systems.

So the benefit of buying the full preconfigured system is that one does not have to think about compatibility issues and power supply. Retailer Olispec is offering the PC with a 108W GaN power supply and a Mini-Box picoPSU power adapter for the 24-pin motherboard connector.
The system is now available for preorder at 162,800 yen (around 1,130 USD) . Worth noting that the case alone is worth around $200. The system comes preconfigured as listed below:
