GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER with AD102 GPU is now available in US

SUPER SOLID (deal?): 4070 Ti SUPER with AD102 GPU

As expected, ZOTAC has launched their RTX 4070 TI SUPER with AD102 GPU through Newegg.

No official announcements have been made by NVIDIA, ZOTAC or Gigabyte. However, the SUPER SOLID from ZOTAC and WINDFORCE MAX graphics card is now listed on Newegg and available for purchase. This means the new variant of the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, which was previously available exclusively with the AD103 GPU, is now on sale featuring a larger AD102 processor.

In terms of specifications, not much has changed. The card still has 8448 CUDA Cores and supports only 16GB of GDDR6X memory (256-bit memory bus). However, the full AD102 GPU has many more cores available, though most of them are disabled on this version.

The specs of this model did not meet the criteria to be labeled as RTX 4090D, which is officially the lowest SKU featuring the AD102 GPU in NVIDIA’s lineup. It seems odd that NVIDIA had so many partially broken AD102 chips that they ended up in the 4070 Ti SUPER. Perhaps at some point, we will see an RTX 4080 with AD102 GPUs as well.

Thus far, only the SUPER SOLID OC model has been listed on Newegg with a price of $869.99. This is $70 more expensive than the official MSRP for the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and, frankly, not a good deal considering some custom models based on this SKU are already available for less. Gigabyte’s Windforce MAX model is lists at $819.99 which is a bit better price no doubt, but still over MSRP.

If you happen to buy one of these cards, please let us know how it works for you. Is the cooler efficient? Are there any quirks that were not mentioned by either GPU vendors or Newegg?
