Power supply makers preparing their wattage calculator for next-gen GPUs

It is likely not a leak, but the timing is interesting. Seasonic, who maintains their own list of existing and upcoming hardware, has updated their power calculator to list NVIDIA’s unreleased RTX 50 series. Surprisingly, this list includes actual TDP values, which had not been mentioned by anyone yet.
The TDP data is not displayed directly. However, the Seasonic calculator allows users to download the calculations in a text format, which includes the TDP information. Through this, we learn that the highest TDP for the RTX 50 series will be for the 5090 model, featuring a 500W TDP. This would be 50W higher than the current RTX 4090 model.
GeForce RTX 50 series according to Seasonic
- GeForce RTX 5090 : TDP 500W +50W vs. 4090 , 1x 16-pin power connector
- GeForce RTX 5080 : TDP 350W +30W vs. 4080 , 1x 16-pin power connector
- GeForce RTX 5070 : TDP 220W +20W vs. 4070 , 1x 16-pin power connector
- GeForce RTX 5060 : TDP 170W +55W vs. 4060 , 1x 16-pin power connector
- GeForce RTX 5050 : TDP 100W, 1x 16-pin power connector
The RTX 5080 is said to feature a 350W TDP (+30W over the 4080), the RTX 5070 with 220W (same as the current SUPER model), the RTX 5060 with 170W (55W higher than the 4060), and the RTX 5050 with a 100W TDP. Interestingly, all of these SKUs are said to use a 16-pin power connector. While TDPs may be a subject to change, if Seasonic has any information it is probably about power connectors.

Additionally, the power supply maker lists unreleased Radeon RX 7000 models. AMD has not mentioned any possible updates to its RDNA3 desktop lineup yet, while the list appears to show models like the RX 7990 XTX. Interestingly, this wouldn’t be the first time a non-official SKU is mentioned by a power calculator. Earlier, we saw the RX 7950XT on the Enermax website , which never materialized into a new model.
Perhaps Seasonic knows something we do not, or this is just placeholder data that should never have made its way to the website (these SKUs are not hidden; in fact, they are among the first to show up when browsing available cards).
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series is said to be launching in late 2024, starting with the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 models.
