Intel LGA-1700 support to be continued
Intel to support LGA-1700 with the Bartlett-S update and its brand new 12 P-Core only die.

Contrary to what Intel taught us to expect from its CPU architecture planning, the LGA-1700 platform will not end with the release of Arrow Lake-S, which uses a different socket. Instead, Intel will launch a separate architecture dedicated to the older socket to provide more choices for consumers.
The Bartlett-S architecture was initially mentioned as a product designed for network and edge applications, rather than consumer needs. However, it turns out that report was not entirely accurate, and Bartlett is also coming to the consumer market, at least according to leaker Jaykihn.
Bartlett SKUs will span across five tiers, all aimed at consumers. There will be one Core 9 SKU featuring 12 P-Cores and no E-Cores. This part will be available in 125W, 65W, and 45W TDP tiers (interestingly, there is no 35W option). Intel is also said to have 10P and 8P variants based on this die, which will be offered in Core 7 and Core 5 tiers, respectively. Note that these are the new Core tiers, not the ones with “i#,” so we are likely looking at Core 200 non-Ultra.

The series will also feature Alder Lake (ADL) and Raptor Lake (RPL) dies with configurations similar to the current ones. Notably, the 24-core version will not be available as Core 9 but will be offered as Core 7 this time.

Intel’s decision to re-launch its Raptor Lake/Alder Lake dies and add a new one featuring Performance cores only is an interesting move, likely intended to sway consumers away from the AMD AM4 platform. The AM4 platform has seen nine years of updates, with new CPUs still being released this month, making Intel’s support for each platform look underwhelming in comparison.
According to Jaykihn, the new series will be launched in January 2025, which should be more or less around the Arrow Lake-S update for 65W/35W TDP segments.
