AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 with Radeon 880M tested in Geekbench
Performance was lower than expected.

Next week, expect Ryzen 3000 laptops to take center stage, as reviewers will share their first impressions. AMD’s new Strix Point laptops are equipped with up to 12 Zen5/c cores and feature new RDNA 3.5 integrated graphics. The 10-core Ryzen AI 9 365 has not been covered extensively by AMD, but it is expected to launch with several laptop designs alongside the HX 370 flagship SKU.
Among them is the ASUS Zenbook S 16 , a laptop that won’t feature discrete graphics and will rely solely on an integrated solution. The Zenbook S 16 has been tested in Geekbench, providing the first look at its raw performance. The iGPU allegedly scored 30,521 points , which isn’t actually that impressive.

In short, this puts the 880M just about alongside its predecessor, the 780M, which features an identical GPU core configuration of 12 Compute Units. The 880M is faster, though, with a boost up to 2.9 GHz (vs. 2.8 GHz). Of course, the missing piece in the puzzle is power settings, as laptops without discrete GPUs tend to prioritize battery life over performance. It wouldn’t be surprising if we were looking at a 15W or 28W power profile. Meanwhile, the official Geekbench data aggregates a lot more systems at this point, spanning from 15W up to 54W.
Worth adding that according to ASUS , the 880M should be 15% faster, except in a different benchmark: 3DMark Time Spy and featuring Vivobook laptop series.
The new 890M iGPU appears to be much faster in comparison, but if we consider that the 880M’s predecessor is not the 780M, but the 760M, then the performance gap would be immediately noticeable with nearly a 40% increase. How these numbers reflect real-world gaming experience, well, for that, we need to wait a few more days.
