Intel introduces 14th Gen Core SKUs without E-Cores: 125W Core i9-14901KE features 8 P-Cores, 16 threads

Core 14×001 SKUs: Up to 8 Performance cores, no Efficient cores at all

Intel has quietly introduced a new series of processors.

Recently, we covered a leak of Intel’s future plans for the LGA-1700 socket, which involved a product named “Bartlett Lake-S”. This product is expected to feature both the Alder Lake/Raptor Lake hybrid die with P-Cores and E-Cores, as well as a brand-new die featuring P-Cores exclusively. It appears this product may not be the only one with such a configuration.

Intel has published specifications for a new series of Core SKUs within the 14th Gen series. Their names correspond to existing SKUs but have one digit added: “1”. The full list of new models includes three Core i9 models, two Core i7, and four Core i5 SKUs. According to Intel, these SKUs are part of the Raptor Lake lineup.

  • Core i9-14901KE
  • Core i9-14901E
  • Core i9-14901TE
  • Core i7-14701E
  • Core i7-14701TE
  • Core i5-14501E
  • Core i5-14501TE
  • Core i5-14401E
  • Core i5-14401TE

According to Intel, these new SKUs are designed for embedded systems, meaning they are not intended for consumers. There is no reason to expect these processors to be used in gaming PCs. However, it is worth noting that the KE models, such as the Core i9-14901KE, still carry a TDP of 125W.

The i9-14901KE SKU has a higher base clock than the consumer version by over 600 MHz (3.8 GHz), but a lower boost clock (5.8 GHz instead of 6.0 GHz). There are also F-variants, which do not have integrated graphics, and T-models, which are 45W variants instead of the 35W spec found in consumer models.

According to Intel, these SKUs have already been launched, but it seems the website does not fully show them publicly (for instance, the comparison feature does not work), suggesting that they might be fully revealed soon.
