MiniPC with 70 watt APU, vapor chamber and OCuLink
Chinese company GMKtec is set to launch a new Ryzen-based Mini-PC with an improved cooling design.
The company already offers a wide range of AMD and Intel-based systems. Its most powerful Mini-PC models are in the K-series, with the K8 featuring up to a Ryzen 9 8945HS APU with a 65W TDP. This model uses a dual-fan cooler and is among the most powerful PCs in this form factor.
GMKtec seems to have more in store, as a new PC is being teased on the Chinese social platform Weibo. According to the announcement, the company will launch a 70W version, and judging by the post title, which mentions “R9,” it is likely a Ryzen 9 8945HS-based system, as the successor (Strix Point) uses Ryzen AI 9 branding instead

While the company did not confirm the system specs, we know that the PC will use a vapor chamber for cooling. There’s no mention of a secondary fan or liquid metal, which some competing products have, but the vapor chamber is a unique feature in this niche market.
The PC also includes an OCuLink connector for external devices, including graphics cards. Additionally, it supports dual 2.5GbE networking, USB, HDMI 2.1, and DP 2.0.
More specs are expected to be revealed later, though no date has been provided yet.
