AMD Ryzen 9000 delayed
The company has pushed back the launch by a week (or two).
Perhaps this is a conformation of what we were reporting this morning that none of the media we asked did not receive a review sample for testing. Turns out, AMD was planning to delay the launch and it is now made official.
AMD has officially announced a delay in the Ryzen 9000 launch. The company confirmed that units already shipped were not meeting expectations. As a result, the launch of the Ryzen 9000 series has been delayed to August 8, when two of the four SKUs will go on sale. The remaining SKUs will be pushed back to August 15.
AMD Ryzen 9000 new launch date:
- Ryzen 5 9600X, Ryzen 7 9700X :
July 31st➡️ August 8th - Ryzen 9 9900X, Ryzen 9 9950X:
July 31st➡️ August 15th
According to KitGuru , AMD clarified that the issue is not related to memory overclocking, despite such rumors among the tech media. However, it remains unclear what exactly did not meet expectations.
“We appreciate the excitement around Ryzen 9000 series processors. During final checks, we found the initial production units that were shipped to our channel partners did not meet our full quality expectations. Out of an abundance of caution and to maintain the highest quality experiences for every Ryzen user, we are working with our channel partners to replace the initial production units with fresh units. As a result, there will be a short delay in retail availability. The Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X processors will now go on sale on August 8th and the Ryzen 9 9950X and Ryzen 9 9900X processors will go on-sale on August 15th. We pride ourselves in providing a high-quality experience for every Ryzen user, and we look forward to our fans having a great experience with the new Ryzen 9000 series.”

AMD is now working with partners to replace the units that were ‘faulty’ with ‘fresh’ units. Hopefully, this means that no one will encounter the faulty units on the market.
AMD has not yet confirmed pricing information for these new processors.
