AMD launches Ryzen 7 8745H APU with lower graphics clock and no AI Processor

AMD Ryzen 7 8745H launched

AMD has launched the rumored Ryzen 7 8745H APU in China

As expected, AMD has introduced the new Ryzen 8040H processor. This model includes 8 Zen4 cores and full RDNA3 graphics with 12 Compute Units, based on the RDNA3 architecture. However, it does not feature the AMD XDNA processor.

Previous rumors indicated that AMD was developing a new mobile SKU without the Neural Processing Unit (NPU). It was also suggested that the specs would be similar to the Ryzen 8845HS, but this is not the case. The Ryzen 8040H has a boost clock of 4.9 GHz, which is 200 MHz lower than the original SKU.

The graphics have also been downgraded in the Ryzen 8040H compared to the 8845H. Both processors feature 12 Compute Units, but the 8745H’s graphics are clocked at 2.6 GHz, down from 2.7 GHz in the 8845H.

The Lenovo XiaoXin 14 Pro is the first laptop to feature the new APU, priced at 5499 RMB ($768). This model comes with 24GB of memory. While there isn’t a direct 8845H version with the same memory configuration for comparison, a version with 32GB is listed at 5599 RMB ($773), indicating only a slight price difference.
