AMD officially begins Ryzen 9000 reservations in China, potential delay reason surfaces

SoC Packaging issues named a potential reason for delays

Officially, there are no preorders available for the Ryzen 9000 series yet. This would be complicated, given that AMD has still not officially announced pricing. However, in China, something similar to reservations is quite popular, and this option is now available to all users.

AMD Ryzen 9000 series CPUs have now been listed by an official store through JD, where all four SKUs can now be pre-booked. One interesting detail is that the Ryzen 9 9600X and 9700X both come with a free CPU cooler. It’s a special edition cooler themed around a game called “Once Human.”

As a reminder, AMD pushed back the release by a week for the Ryzen 5/7 series and by two weeks for the Ryzen 9 series. This means that the Ryzen 9600X/9700X will be released on August 8, while the Ryzen 9 9950X/9900X will be released on August 14.

Speaking of the delay, according to Uniko’s Hardware, the potential reason for the Ryzen 9000 launch date being moved is due to supposed SoC packaging issues. It is unclear who the reviewers were, as there were hardly any samples distributed worldwide. Perhaps this means other partners or overclockers, who often receive samples sooner.

1.start sending samples to some reviewers
2.some reviewers report way worse performance
3.look into the problem and find out what happened
4.the soc packaging got issues
4.recall all shipped cpu

this is what full quality expectations means
