AMD Ryzen 9000 in Cinebench R23

Leakers share benchmarks results before official embargo.

As we know, AMD has pushed back the release of the Ryzen 9000 series by a week or two, depending on the specific SKU. The entire lineup will be released by August 15th, with benchmark data from reviewers expected by August 14th. Meanwhile, leakers are busy sharing firsthand data, supposedly from reviewers who either received their samples early or from board partners who already possess these Zen5-based Ryzen processors.

Over on X, one can find results featuring the Ryzen 9000 series in Cinebench R23, one of the most popular CPU benchmarks currently. In fact, AMD used this benchmark during the official showcase of the Zen5 overclocking capability, and we are including that data in our charts.

The new benchmarks include data for the 12-core Ryzen 9 9900X, 8-core Ryzen 7 9700X, and 6-core Ryzen 5 9600X, which together paint a clear picture of what Ryzen will be focusing on in a rendering benchmark such as Cinebench.

One should note, however, that we have no information about the system specs. Details such as memory configuration or power limits are not listed in Cinebench tools and have not been provided by the leaker, making this data (quite) non-comparable.

Overall, the upgrade from Zen4 to Zen5 is expected to yield a 10% to 15% increase in single-core performance and a 10% to 13% increase in multi-core performance.
