Moore Threads finally launches MTT S50, a mid-range solution within the MUSA-based series
The entry-level segment for the Chinese market.

Moore Threads is not a very popular choice among Chinese gamers. The company has never launched its discrete graphics cards globally, but several reviews by international media highlight both the challenges of competing with the largest players and the significant progress made in just one year.
The MTT series currently features five models: two designed for gaming (S80 and S70), and two strictly for business/office use (S30 and S10). The newly released MTT S50 which is the fifth SKU, falls somewhere in between, officially marketed for workstation and digital office use.

Compared to the flagship MTT S80, the S50 has half the MUSA cores (2048 vs. 4096) and half the memory capacity (8GB instead of 16GB). However, it supports the same video encoding capabilities, including H.264/H.265 and AV1 encoding and decoding.
There are some changes from the specs announced two years ago. The TGP, previously listed at 75W, is now 85W. Additionally, the card now relies on a PCIe 3.0×16 interface instead of PCIe 4.0×16 support.

The architecture supports popular AI frameworks such as DBNet, CRNN, Yolo, Restnet50/101, PyTorch or TensorFlow. In terms of performance, it is expected to be comparable to GTX 1650, but only in certain games. Worth reminding that the flagship MTT S80 was barely able to compete with GT 1030 when it came out. Also there’s an issue with actual game support, which is still not impressive. It does, however, support games like League of Legends, DOTA 2 or Counter Strike 2, which are among the most popular games in China.
With the first generation MUSA series now seemingly complete, we look forward to what Moore Threads has in store for the second generation. Improving game support and addressing idle power consumption should be top priorities.
Moore Threads did not announce pricing for MTS S50 yet, nor is the card listed by official store.
