NVIDIA takes last GeForce RTX 3060 orders, graphics card to be discontinued
Last change for board partners to make orders.
According to reports from Board Channels, which gathers information from major board partners, NVIDIA has informed them that it’s the last opportunity to place orders for the RTX 3060 series. Companies like Colorful and Palit were reportedly notified that they can make their final supply orders for this SKU.
What gamers should understand that any market impact from this decision will take time. The last order will take months to fulfill, as these are sent in batches. Even if the RTX 3060 is discontinued, NVIDIA will still ship orders to partners, who will then distribute the cards to retailers. Therefore, the actual market effect may take several months.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, launched in February 2021, has become one of the most popular GPUs. According to the Steam Survey, the GeForce RTX 3060 and the XX60 series are particularly favorites among gamers. The RTX 3060 alone currently has 5.9% of the share among all gamers who participated in the survey.

The company equipped the RTX 3060 with 12GB VRAM, following up on the RTX 2060 specs. More than 1.5 years later, NVIDIA launched the RTX 3060 8GB, which had less memory and was offered as a cheaper alternative to the RTX 4060, which also launched with 8GB memory.
It is assumed that both RTX 3060 SKUs are being discontinued. However, there is no news yet about other RTX 30 models facing the same fate.
