AMD Ryzen 9000 official pricing revealed

A bit higher than what retailers have listed.

After more than two months since announcing the new Zen5-based processors, AMD has confirmed the official pricing. No more speculation or purported figures from smaller or larger retailers—these are the official numbers. The new series will cost between $279 and $649.

The confirmed pricing is slightly higher than what we reported last week. The 16-core Ryzen 9 9950X will be priced at $649, not $599. Similarly, the 12-core 9900X will cost $499 instead of $449. The 8-core 9700X and 6-core 9600X will be priced at $359 and $279, respectively, as previously leaked by large US retailers.

• Ryzen 5 9600X : $279 -$20

The good news is that AMD is pricing their new desktop processors lower than the last generation, though the reduction is just $20 to $50.

What has not changed is the launch date set to August 8th (Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9500X) and August 15 (Ryzen 9 9900X and 9950X). Perhaps it’s also worth noting that there will be no 800-series motherboards available at launch.

Keep in mind that AMD will lift the embargo on the first reviews today, which will include the 9700X and 9600X models. If there is indeed an improvement in gaming performance, will it be enough to convince gamers to pay more than what Ryzen 7000 currently retails for? We’ll find out in about 10 hours.
