AMD to release Radeon RX 7800M with Navi 32, set to power ONEXGPU 2 eGPU

Unreleased AMD Radeon RX 7800M mobile GPU to power OneXGPU 2 external graphics solution

OneNetbook spills the beans on the new graphics card from AMD.

OneXGPU 2 will be powered by AMD’s yet unannounced Radeon RX 7800M graphics card. It appears that AMD is set to fill a massive gap in its mobile RDNA3 lineup nearly a year after introducing a third GPU based on RDNA3 architecture.

The Navi 32 was announced in September last year and it powers two gaming models: the Radeon RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT. It looks like AMD will finally launch a mobile variant, featuring a name of RX 7800M, if Chinese company marketing materials are to be believed.

AMD’s Navi 32 features up to 3840 Stream Processors and a 256-bit memory bus, which is nearly twice as many cores as Navi 33 and double the memory bus. It also requires a lot more power, with desktop variants requiring 245-260 watts.

The current product from OneNetbook called OneXGPU features Radeon RX 7600M XT, and there’s a long list of external GPU solutions based on this SKU. The RX 7800M has not been named by any of these companies before, making it a potential new product.

Worth noting that there are no ultra-portable solutions with GeForce RTX 40 series. So AMD is essentially taking over a very niche market. The RX 7600M XT GPU was already able to double the framerate for handheld gaming consoles, so the RX 7800M is almost certainly going to be faster.

And speaking of handhelds, this update to AMD graphics comes at an interesting time as we await updates on Ryzen AI 300-based products. It would appear that one might get a substantial boost in gaming performance, whether it’s through integrated graphics or external GPU solutions.

ONEXGPU 2 is expected to be released soon, and the company is currently seeking beta testers.
