AMD Gamescom 2024 event reportedly planned for August 23rd

AMD at Gamescom, an event set for August 23

ASUS has revealed that AMD will have an event at Gamescom 2024.

Last year, AMD announced Radeon RX 7800XT and RX 7700XT graphics cards at Gamescom. The company also provided important updates on FSR3 and also unveiled a special edition of Radeon RX 7900 XTX Avatar Edition. It looks like one might start to wonder if there’s any product launch at this year’s Gamescom.

What’s important is that AMD has not yet announced any events for Gamescom. However, upon writing the story about the ASUS Radeon RX 7000 “Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2” special edition graphics card, we noticed that ASUS has seemingly confirmed that such an event will take place. In fact, ASUS has also revealed when it will happen:

To celebrate the launch of the campaign, one of the cards will also be given to a lucky participant in the AMD Gamescom Event on August 23.

Worth noting that last year, AMD started teasing the “Gaming Festival 2” at Gamescom 2023 only a week before the actual event. Of course, it was no surprise to our readers as we had already known at the time which Radeon GPUs would be released at that event. The 2024 event might not be the same though.

AMD has confirmed its presence at Gamescom 2024, but there is no confirmation about a specific event. At this moment, it may not even be a livestream or important product update-type of event, but rather an event for attendees. The 2022 event did not have any product launches and was a 9-hour event with live demos, game showcases, and giveaways.

So once again, there is no information about any product launch yet. However, we have several guesses as to what might be announced should AMD have a product launch there. The new Radeon RX 7800M mobile graphics card or an update on Ryzen 9000X3D or 800-series motherboards are among the few potential updates.
