Mobile Arrow Lake: Not just Lion Cove and Skymont
Intel has issued patches for the upcoming Arrow Lake-H series.
Intel might be quiet about its next-gen client CPU series, but preparations are underway behind the scenes before the company publicly announces it. The Arrow Lake series will launch shortly after Lunar Lake, which targets premium laptops with its low-power mobile architecture. The Arrow Lake CPUs will cover desktop, mainstream laptop, and high-end laptop segments. One key difference is that, unlike Lunar Lake, Arrow Lake will be available with discrete graphics.
Both series share the Core Ultra 200 name, with Arrow Lake being the H or HX variant and Lunar Lake receiving the V-Series designation. According to Intel, Lunar Lake will feature Lion Cove Performance cores and Skymont Efficient cores, with Arrow Lake expected to follow suit. However, one variant of Arrow Lake will also use current-gen CPU cores known as Crestmont:
“ArrowLake-H is a specific variant of regular ArrowLake. It shares same PMU features on lioncove P-cores and skymont E-cores with regular ArrowLake except ArrowLake-H adds extra crestmont uarch E-cores .
Thus ArrowLake-H contains two different atom uarchs. This is totally different with previous Intel hybrid platforms which contains only one kind of atom uarchs. In this case, it’s not enough to distinguish the uarchs just by core type. […]

Crestmont is already present in Meteor Lake (Core Ultra 100) and is part of the Efficient core cluster, as well as the Low-Power Island in the SoC tile. According to information from Phoronix, Intel is not changing the core type in the SoC tile for Arrow Lake; the Low-Power cores will continue to use the Crestmont architecture.
Intel is expected to launch its Arrow Lake-S series in the fourth quarter of this year. The mobile version is anticipated to appear around CES 2025, which is the typical launch timeframe for new Intel architectures.
