Intel officially postpones Innovation 2024 event, leaving Arrow Lake launch in question

Intel Innovation 2024 axed due to poor financial situation

In an unexpected decision, the company has moved the date to 2025 for its most important event.

Innovation is part of Intel’s ON series, a highlight event each year since Pat Gelsinger took over the company. This event is officially aimed at partners and developers who want to engage with Intel and each other. Attendees can expect keynotes from Intel executives and experts on various topics.

Intel also hosts technical panels, hands-on labs, breakout sessions, and technology showcases demonstrating new products. However, the company has now announced that the event is postponed until 2025, possibly due to current financial challenges.

In a brief statement to PCMag, the company mentioned that the “financials were tougher than expected,” leading to the decision to move the event. This follows Intel’s cost-saving plan, which includes laying off over 15,000 employees.

The event is officially pushed back to 2025, but no specific date has been provided. The original date was significant for fans and industry insiders, as the event was expected to showcase Intel’s Core Ultra 200 “Arrow Lake” series, which now seems unlikely to happen in 2024.

Intel has mentioned that there will be smaller, ‘targeted events,’ suggesting that the company might focus on launching Arrow Lake separately. Notably, AMD also did not have a separate launch event for its Ryzen 9000 series, instead announcing it at Computex.

What is worth noting is that the company has already announced that Intel Core Ultra 200V “Lunar Lake” will be released on September 3rd at IFA in Germany. The decision to postpone Innovation 2024 is not affecting those plans.
