Reports from China on limited availability of Radeon RX 6600 emerge
The card is still in stock in the western states.

AMD will now prioritize a higher-end RX 6750 GRE 10GB model over the RX 6600 in China. The company has reportedly “discontinued” the SKU and inventory is running dry, but only in the Chinese market. The RX 6600 cards are still available in other countries. The news comes from Board Channels, which is known for providing first-hand information directly from AIBs, manufacturing facilities, or retailers.
According to the report, AMD is now primarily focusing on the RX 7000 series and has already released RX 7600 and 7600 XT models featuring higher performance than their predecessors. However, this performance gain may not be substantial enough for some gamers, who are still inclined to purchase last-gen RDNA2 models, such as the RX 6600 at much lower (sub $200) prices.

If this report is true, then AMD will start focusing on the RX 6750 GRE, which is a more powerful card with more cores and more memory than the RX 6600. It was launched by AMD last year as a cheaper, sub-$300 SKU for casual gaming. AMD launched two models with the same name, but the 12GB variant has more memory, more cores and more power.
The Chinese media report that several board partners, including Gigabyte (presumably referring to Gigabyte), Yeston, and ASRock, only had RX 6600 one model available, which confirms the report about lackluster availability in China.
Next year, AMD is said to be introducing RDNA4 (Navi 4X) GPUs, with expectations that it will cover the RX 8800–8600 series. There’s a good reason why AMD wants to sell the inventory and focus on the RX 7000 series before the launch of the new series.
