Intel Nova Lake to follow Arrow Lake Refresh on desktop
Reportedly, there’s no Panther Lake for desktops.

The LGA-1851 platform has yet to be released, and potential buyers have a right to know how long it will be supported. At this point, we know that Intel’s new Core Ultra 200 series, based on the Arrow Lake architecture, is expected to release by the end of the year. Next year, Intel is said to be launching a refresh of this architecture, focusing primarily on improving the integrated NPU (Neural Processing Unit).
It’s worth noting that initially Intel was planning to bring Meteor Lake to desktops, but those plans were canceled and the launch of the LGA-1851 platform has been postponed until Arrow Lake. Despite this, it was supposed to support at least two generations of Intel processors, with the assumption being that Meteor Lake would come to desktops eventually. With Meteor Lake only coming to mobile and embedded systems, it is likely that Arrow Lake’s successor will support the platform as well.
This successor has now been named Nova Lake, which is not a new architecture name but is said to be the next-in-line for desktops. Intel plans to release an Arrow Lake Refresh next year, so we can expect Nova Lake desktops to follow approximately a year later, possibly in 2026.
Sorry, I saw the word “mobile” and filled it in.
No, PTL is mobile-only.
Next consumer desktop is Nova Lake.— Jaykihn (@jaykihn0) August 9, 2024
Worth reminding that Nova Lake already appeared in leaked roadmaps from Dell . The company is aiming to launch the first laptops featuring this Intel architecture in 2027 at the earliest. There are several products currently in development, some also featuring the latest graphics technologies like Xe2 (Lunar) and Xe3 (Panther).
