There’s no 7-inch Lenovo Legion Go (yet), but the original is getting cheaper
The company responded to misleading information in the product description.
There’s good news and bad news. The good news is that the Legion Go handheld, which debuted last year, is now available at a much lower price compared to just a few weeks ago. The reason for the price cut is simple: the launch of the ROG Ally X by ASUS has set a new standard for high-end handhelds, even though they’re all powered by the same Ryzen processor.
As a reminder, the Legion Go launched at $699 for the 512GB version, the same price as the ROG Ally when it was released. The new Ally X costs $799, which isn’t exactly a great deal but seems to be enough to attract enthusiasts.
Currently, there’s no sign of AMD Strix Point-based handhelds, and we’re likely to wait a few more months before such devices start to appear. The Ryzen Z1-based handhelds might have to wait a bit longer until AMD officially introduces the Z2 series for these companies to have an upgrade.
The Lenovo Legion Go price has been reduced from $699 to just $551. This is the lowest price for this handheld since launch and comparable price to ROG Ally 2023 model.

No 7-inch version (for now)
There were some rumors that Lenovo might launch a smaller “Lite” edition featuring a 7-inch screen. In fact, Lenovo fueled these rumors by mentioning a smaller 7-inch device with HDMI output and a dual-fan configuration in the official Go product FAQ. However, the company now denies that such a product exists within the first-generation Go family .
In a statement sent to Forbes , Lenovo does not deny that such device is planned, but says that the FAQ information was incorrect. The wording is careful and does not ultimately debunk the rumor of such product being in a pipeline.
“The FAQ section in question contained incorrect information pertaining to the 1st generation Lenovo Legion Go, and thanks to our eagle-eyed Legion fans it was brought to our attention and subsequently removed. We are very happy to see the Legion fanbase paying rapt attention to Lenovo Legion updates and while we cannot comment on the possibility of future announcements, we can promise that we are working on bringing the coolest new gaming innovations to our fans around the world.”

Worth noting that there are new Intel-based handhelds in the works, such as the MSI Claw 8 AI+, based on Lunar Lake. All these devices are catering to the high-end market, leaving the mid-range and entry-level segment almost exclusively to Steam Deck and Chinese alternatives.
