AMD partners shift focus to RDNA4, no sign of RX 7400/7300 models for now

RDNA4 in AMD board partners focus, not RX 7400/7300

There’s an interesting new detail from Benchlife, who reached out to their sources within the AMD board partner community.

According to recent reports, there is still no official confirmation or release date for AMD’s supposed Radeon RX 7400 and RX 7300 graphics cards. Despite previous leaks from reliable sources, which included PCI Device IDs suggesting that these models are in development, there has been no mention of them to board partners.

One theory is that these cards may be designed specifically for OEMs and will only be released by large companies as part of their pre-built systems, rather than being sold through retail channels. However, Benchlife reports that neither board partners nor large OEMs are aware of such models, which raises obvious questions, such as when would these graphics cards launch if at all.

It’s worth noting that the original leak also mentioned PRO variants of these graphics cards, which may indicate that there is some confusion or misunderstanding about what AMD is actually working on.

The Radeon RX 7400 and RX 7300 are not currently on the development list of any AIB (Add-In Board) partners, as far as we know. As mentioned earlier, everyone is currently focused on the next-generation Radeon graphics cards based on the RDNA 4 GPU architecture.

In any case, a Taiwanese website reports that while there has been n o news about the RX 7400/7300 cards, work is indeed underway on future products based on RDNA4 architecture . In fact, board partners are now focusing their efforts on developing graphics cards using this new architecture, which suggests that AMD’s next-generation products are in development and will likely be released soon.

The launch timeline for AMD’s Radeon RX 8000 series remains uncertain, with some speculating that it will be a staggered release between Q1 and Q2 of 2025. Additionally, there are rumors that the first details about the new series may be revealed at CES.

However, it appears that AMD has been silent on the Radeon series for several months, with no updates or announcements at Computex. The last time any news was shared about the Radeon lineup was during the launch of the RX 7800/7700 XT in September last year and the RX 7600 XT in January. Since then, there has been a noticeable lack of information from AMD regarding its graphics card plans.
