NVIDIA to launch GeForce RTX 4070 with GDDR6 memory

New memory variant for RTX 4070 is now confirmed.

GALAX is preparing to launch its RTX 4070 OC 2X graphics card, now featuring GDDR6 memory. The card’s appearance and packaging will be identical to the existing RTX 4070 model, meaning customers will need to pay close attention to the product specifications to spot the difference.

The leaked data that we obtained shows the new card will maintain the dual-fan, dual-slot design and will be powered by a single 8-pin power connector. While the PCB design appears to be the same as the GDDR6X version, a full PCB shot has not yet been provided for detailed comparison.

Based on the information that we have, the GPU will have the same specs, but it will be a different version: AD104-251 instead of 250. The GPU will retain 5888 CUDA core config.

Further information suggests that the upcoming GALAX RTX 4070 OC 2X with GDDR6 memory will feature identical GPU specs to the current model, with the primary difference to be found in the memory. The AD104-251 based model will come equipped with memory rated at 20 Gbps instead of 21 Gbps. Both versions will continue to offer 12GB of memory with a 192-bit memory bus. The TDP for the GDDR6 variant is still being confirmed.

The RTX 4070 lineup, including the Ti and SUPER models, has become somewhat confusing due to the variety of options. However, it’s worth noting that not all variants are available in every market, and at least one of the listed SKUs has been discontinued.
