GeForce RTX 4070 GDDR6 edition
The new GeForce GPU expected a week from now.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 is getting a new launch date, but it’s not referring to the original model which was released 16 months ago. There’s a new SKU featuring GDDR6 non-X memory coming.
As previously reported, this new model exists, and we’ve even shared an image of its design . The packaging appears to be identical to the original model, which may raise questions about how consumers will respond to a refreshed product without any visual changes.
According to board partners, the new RTX 4070 is expected to have similar performance to the original model, despite the 5% decrease in bandwidth from GDDR6X to GDDR6 memory. While this may result in a slight performance hit, it’s worth noting that not all workloads are memory-intensive, and other factors like CUDA core count, TDP, and clock speeds are likely to remain the same.
The new batch of GDDR6 memory-based graphics cards from various brands is expected to start arriving around August 20th. RTX 4070 series models from various brands are likely to remain in short supply, and this shortage may continue until around the 20th. The new batch of RTX 4070 GDDR6 memory cards is expected to start arriving after the 20th, which may gradually ease the supply situation.
