Another Z890 motherboard to be showcased soon

MSI teases new hardware to be unveiled next week at Gamescom. This gamer-centric event is not usually a platform for PC hardware releases, but there have been exceptions. It looks like MSI will take this opportunity to unveil a soon-to-be-released Z890-based motherboard.

As a reminder, MSI already showcased two boards at Computex in June this year: the Z890 MAG PRO and Z890 MPG EDGE. The Z890 MAG TOMAHAWK, often considered a solid mid-range option within MSI’s product lineup, is expected to be revealed soon.

It’s worth noting that MSI is likely not going to call it the Z890 just yet, as this name is still under embargo by Intel. As far as we know, this is a next-gen Intel platform that will be officially unveiled when Intel deems it ready. Currently, there’s no launch event planned for Arrow Lake, also known as the Core Ultra 200 series, and the 800-series motherboards. Intel has only confirmed a September 3rd launch for its Core Ultra 200V “Lunar Lake” series, but assured that the cancellation of Innovation 2024 will not affect their plans.
