Gigabyte submits Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics cards to EEC, confirms 12GB memory

Gigabyte Radeon RX 6700 XT series

Gigabyte has just submitted its upcoming Radeon RX 6700 XT series to Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

The leak confirms that Radeon RX 6700 XT will ship with 12GB GDDR6 memory. The manufacturer is now planning six models, including AORUS, Gaming and Eagle cards. The list closes with a reference model. It would appear that all these cards will ship with 12 GB GDDR6 memory.

According to the list, it may seem that AMD is not planning to launch its RX 6700 XT and non-XT at the same time. We have already seen a list from other AIBs which also lack XT variants. The fact that this list appears in early February may indicate that AMD could unveil the new SKU already this month. AMD has not provided a launch date yet but has confirmed that new RDNA2 graphics cards will launch in the first half of 2021. Although unproven yet, the rumors were more accurate pointing towards March as a possible launch date for the RX 6700 XT.

AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT is expected to ship with a full Navi 22 GPU. This processor will feature 2560 Stream Processors and up to 40 Ray Accelerators (AMD’s specialized ray tracing accelerating units). The graphics card is expected to feature 12GB GDDR6 memory across a 192-bit memory bus. The card will also feature Infinity Cache, but its size has not yet been fully confirmed.

The dual-fan cooler for Navi 22 graphics cards has already leaked. It would appear that AMD plans to equip the card with dual 8-pin power connectors, but it may be possible that this might have changed as the render is quite old.

AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT will compete with GeForce RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3060. The latter will debut with 12GB GDDR6 memory which may indicate that both cards will compete in the same performance levels. However, there have been no leaks on performance on either card yet.
