New G-Sync Pulsar monitors announced, featuring MediaTek’s new chip
NVIDIA and MediaTek partnership tightens up.

NVIDIA has unveiled three new monitors that make use of a new chip from MediaTek, designed to deliver superior image quality, exceptional motion clarity, ultra-low latency, and highly accurate colors. This chip supports the latest iteration of NVIDIA’s G-Sync technology, known as G-Sync Pulsar. According to NVIDIA, G-Sync Pulsar offers four times the motion clarity and a tear-free Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) experience.
One key advantage of MediaTek’s new scaler chip is that it eliminates the need for additional G-Sync modules , similar to AMD FreeSync and the open VRR standard. FreeSync monitors, which do not require dedicated modules, are more common than G-Sync monitors that do. Removing the need for such modules is likely to lower costs and improve the availability of these technologies for gamers.

As noted by ComputerBase, out of 2879 known monitors in the public price aggregation site, only 22 have G-Sync modules, and only 5 are G-Sync Ultimate. NVIDIA really has a lot of work to catch up.
The monitors announced include the ASUS ROG Swift 360Hz PG27AQNR , Acer Predator XB273U F5 , and AOC AGON PRO AG276QSG2 . All three models feature a 2560×1440 resolution, 360Hz refresh rate, and HDR support. While these are high-end models, there is hope that MediaTek’s scaler will appear in more budget-friendly options in the future.

As for availability, NVIDIA has not provided specific release dates for these monitors, though they are expected to launch later this year. Delays in getting new monitors to market are not uncommon, often due to supply chain challenges, final quality checks, or manufacturer-specific timelines.
