MSI has partnered with Blizzard to celebrate the 20th anniversary of World of Warcraft and its latest expansion, The War Within. The company has created a special edition of its GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER Gaming Slim featuring artwork inspired by the game franchise. Interestingly, users can switch the artwork according to their preference.

Gamers can customize this graphics card with magnetic puzzle-style backplates that features artwork from each expansion. The new graphics card features a special gold and black color scheme, and the standout feature is its magnetically attached backplate covers. By default, the backplate is black, but users can choose from five custom backplates, each featuring artwork related to one of the latest WoW expansions.

Keep in mind that the WoW backplates may affect the card’s airflow, as they cover the exposed heatsink area.

The card is based on the Gaming Slim model (non-X), which means it has NVIDIA reference clocks by default: 2475 MHz, with a boost of 2490 MHz if users apply factory overclock settings through MSI Gaming software.
Nearly every GPU brand has a preferred design for customizations. For MSI, this is clearly the GAMING SLIM series. The original black edition has already been updated three times to all-white, MLG (red), and Wukong (black/gold) designs. The new WoW design will be the fifth variant. All of these cards share the same SKU (RTX 4070 SUPER).

MSI has not confirmed if the RTX 4070 SUPER World of Warcraft Edition will be available through retail channels. However, it will be offered as a prize in a special event called “World of Warcraft Memories,” where MSI is inviting participants to share their favorite WoW moments and tag the appropriate MSI social media accounts. If you have such memories, you might have a chance to win this graphics card free of charge.
