Microsoft’s new Xbox now has a release date, preorders now open
A new update to the XBOX family expected on October 15th.
Microsoft confirms that the Xbox Series X Digital Edition will be released on October 15th in the US and on October 29th in other regions. This version of the Xbox features a new color option, “Robot White,” which is now available for the flagship Series X model.
The company also launched a black edition of the Xbox Series S with 1TB of storage, but this version is also getting a new “Robot White” edition. The new Xbox Series X Digital Edition will have the same color.

Today also marks the first time gamers can preorder these consoles, including the Galaxy Black edition, which is the new 2TB option in the Xbox family. Unfortunately, Microsoft has not made any efforts to lower the price of storage options, as the proprietary SSD expansion cards remain ridiculously expensive. In contrast, the PlayStation 5’s M.2 SSDs are simply a much cheaper option.
During the Gamescom Xbox showcase, the company did not discuss anything about the next-generation consoles. These long-rumored updates could definitely bring some life to the Xbox ecosystem. While the company has canceled its plans for a small streaming set-top device for TVs, there’s ongoing speculation about whether Xbox is planning to release a dedicated handheld device , as Xbox chief Phil Spencer has been talking about these devices for a while now.
