Core Ultra 200V “Lunar Lake” laptops from Acer and Asus start at €996, according to a new leak

Intel Core Ultra 200V “Lunar Lake” laptops now listed in France

Officially, Intel is planning to unveil its first products in the Core Ultra 200 series in ten days. The company did not specify if September 3rd is also the launch date for the series, but given what retailers are doing behind the scenes, it seems very likely.

In France, there are several listings for the upcoming Acer Swift SF14-51 laptop and ASUS ExpertBook P5405, which feature Intel Core Ultra 5 or Ultra 7 SKUs. Pricing is expected to be as follows:

  • ACER Swift SF14-51-7943 Ultra 7 258V : €1135 (€1361 with VAT)
  • ACER Swift SF14-51-56Y2 Ultra 5 226V : €907 (€1088 with VAT)
  • Asus P5405CSA-NZ0038X Ultra 7 258V : €1132 (€1359 with VAT)
  • Asus P5405CSA-NZ0039X Ultra 5 226V : €830 (€996 with VAT)

It appears that laptops with the entry-level Core Ultra 2 226 SKU could start at the €1000 mark. This is a bit concerning, especially considering the recent Snapdragon X launch. Additionally, there aren’t many options left for laptop makers to reduce the specs further, given that memory capacity is now determined by the CPU, as Intel has integrated LPDDR5X memory onto the package (memory on package).

Perhaps laptop makers can still swap displays or add even less storage (these systems have 512GB or 1TB) and allow users to add more storage later on. At least this part can be upgraded.

Leaker @momomo_us , who discovered these systems on the French site PC21.fr, has also shared the first screenshot featuring the Core Ultra 7 256V. This isn’t the highest SKU in the series, as Intel is rumored to be launching a single Core Ultra 9 model. However, the Core Ultra 7 256V is essentially the top of the line except for that part, and if features the full config of 4 LionCove, 4 Skymont cores.

This SKU is said to feature P-Core boost up to 5.0 GHz and E-Core Boost up to 3.7 GHz. What the CPU-Z screenshot does not show is integrated Arc 140V graphics, the very first taste of Intel’s next-gen Xe2 architecture.

Intel has already confirmed that the launch of the new series is scheduled for September 3rd. Acer has announced a launch event for the following day, while others are expected to have smaller launches without press events at IFA 2024, which starts on September 6th.
