MANLI RTX 4070 GDDR6
MANLI is introducing three new RTX 4070 graphics cards, all of which feature the new, slower, memory type.

NVIDIA made a small announcement earlier this week, introducing a new variant of the RTX 4070. Unfortunately, this SKU is not meant to be faster than the existing version; in fact, it is said to offer ‘similar’ performance, although the specs are actually slightly worse. The AD104-251 -based model has the same core count of 5888 CUDA cores, features 12GB of memory, and even has the same clock speeds and TDP of 200W . The only change is the slower GDDR6 non-X memory , which is now clocked at 20 Gbps instead of 21 Gbps.
NVIDIA isn’t claiming the performance will be identical, but similar, which could raise some concerns. For gaming, there will likely be a very small difference compared to the GDDR6X variant. However, since graphics cards are now used for various purposes, including compute-related workloads such as generative AI and video processing, this could still be more noticeable, only real reviews will tell.

Surprisingly, NVIDIA did not mandate any changes to the packaging. It seems like a wild west out there, with some companies even completely omitting the memory type or adding small stickers to confirm which variant is up for sale. The RTX 4070 SKU does not carry any special moniker such as “SUPER” or “GDDR6” However, in NVIDIA’s defense, the company rarely uses special markings for such models. For instance, the RTX 2060 12GB or GTX 1650 GDDR6 did not feature any special SKU names either; it was up to AIBs to showcase what they were selling.
Manli, at least, has put a sticker that says “12GB GDDR6,” so in this case, we have clear information on what is being sold. Also Manli appears to be committed to the new launch, offering three models (the same number as the GDDR6X variants). The unnamed card (labeled as M2545+N748) features Manli’s iconic green cooler design, a 2.5-slot cooler, and no factory overclocking (pictured above).
The company is also launching two white-design cards in its Polar Fox series. Options include dual and triple fan designs. All three models the same same GPU specs otheriwse, so it’s basically an offer of three cooler options.

NVIDIA confirms that RTX 4070 GDDR6 will be released next month. There’s no exact release date though or confirmation on pricing, but it would appear based on our conversations with AIBs that they are aiming at RTX 4070 GDDR6X MSRP.
