Pedestrian injured in Mississauga hit-and-run

A man has been rushed to a hospital after he was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run in Mississauga.

Peel Regional Police (PRP) officers were called to the Hurontario Street and Britannia Road East area just before 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

Police say a male pedestrian was hit by the driver of a vehicle, who fled the scene. The extent of his injuries is unclear, and a vehicle description was not provided.

Police tell 680News Radio it appears the man was cutting across the road when the driver hit him.

Britannia Road East is closed from Hurontario Street and Whittle Road for the investigation.
