US President Donald Trump made his “America first” agenda clear in his address to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on Monday.
In a lengthy speech and Q&A session, the returning leader demanded that Nato up its membership payments to 5 per cent of GDP, warned that firms that did not manufacture in the US would face tariffs, complained about “unfair” treatment for American businesses in the EU, spoke enthusiastically about meeting Russian President Vladimir Putin and said he would call on China’s President Xi Jinping to help end the war in Ukraine.
