AMD Ryzen 9 5900 and Ryzen 7 5800 OEM non-X processors are now available

AMD Ryzen 9 5900 and Ryzen 7 5800 now available with Alienware prebuilt system

AMD Vermeer without the X.

Originally launched on January 12th, it took nearly 4 months for the new processors to appear on system integrators’ websites. The Ryzen 9 5900 and Ryzen 7 5800 will not be available for the DIY market, instead, the non-X variants will only be available with prebuilt systems. Those OEM-only Ryzen 5000 series CPUs based on Zen3 architecture have just appeared on the Dell website and are now available for order with an Alienware Aurora Ryzen Editon R10 desktop.

According to Dell’s listing, the Ryzen 7 5800 non-X appears to be 150 USD cheaper than, whereas the Ryzen 9 5900 appears to be a least 300 USD more budget-friendly than Ryzen 9 5900X.

AMD had already announced its Ryzen 5000 non-X series weeks ago, so their specifications are not really a surprise anymore. The Ryzen 9 5900 is a 12-core CPU with a boost lock at 4.6 GHz and a base clock at 3.0 GHz. While the turbo is just 100 MHz lower than the 5900X variant, the base clock is 700 MHz slower. This is mainly due to the fact that non-X variants are 65W TDP whereas their X counterparts are 105W. Meanwhile, AMD Ryzen 7 5800 non-XT is an 8-core CPU with the base clock at 3.4 GHz (400 MHz reduction) and a boost at 4.6 GHz (100 MHz reduction).

The full AMD Ryzen 5000 series desktop lineup now features 6 already released SKUs, one rumored (5600 non-X) and three parts with integrated graphics that should launch in the coming weeks.
