Hong Kong police are searching for two murder suspects after a man was attacked with a knife in a quiet, upscale residential area of Sha Tin on Sunday and later died in hospital.

According to a police source, the victim, 52, was a member of the Wo Shing Wo triad society. He was chased and slashed by the attackers who then fled the scene in a taxi, which was later located on Tseung Kwan O Tunnel Road.

Shocked passers-by called police, and emergency responders found the man unconscious. He was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital in Sha Tin, where he was later pronounced dead.

The incident occurred at around 5.25pm near the intersection of Lai Wo Lane and Sui Wo Road near Sha Tin Junior School, operated by the English Schools Foundation, in Fo Tan.

The taxi was first identified in Kwun Tong through the city’s traffic monitoring system, the Post learned. It was later intercepted on Tseung Kwan O Tunnel Road.

Three female passengers were in the taxi, but investigators believed they were not linked to the case. The two suspects reportedly left the vehicle in Sham Shui Po.
