Well, it seems that Samsung is expected to be the next firm to unveil a gigantic investment in the US, as President Trump revealed when he discussed trade deals with South Korea.

The Trump administration is currently engaged in finalizing trade deals with nations like India, Japan, and South Korea, and it looks like a primary part of that would be foreign companies of the respective nations investing in the US. Once President Trump took office, we saw firms like Apple, TSMC, SoftBank, and many more announcing "multi-billion" dollar plans of setting up facilities in the US, and it seems like Samsung is next in line. According to , President Trump expects to sign a deal with Samsung soon.

I heard Samsung is now, because of tariffs, they are going to build massive facilities in the United States. If we didn't do the tariffs, they wouldn't be doing that.

Even Samsung whose name isn't mentioned here, but I heard that they announced this morning that they're going to be building a very big plant because they want to be able to beat the tariffs.

Well, it seems like the Trump administration will give leverage only to those firms that announce massive investment plans in the US, and with Samsung being next, here's what we can expect. Samsung already plans to expand its facilities in the cities of Austin and Texas, creating 10,000 jobs. The firm already has an ongoing project in Taylor, Texas, which is said to be operational by the end of 2027 and will likely be responsible for producing cutting-edge nodes like the 2nm, which is said to have received massive anticipation from firms like NVIDIA .

Samsung does have plans to shift production of its appliances and TV products to other facilities, as reported in their recent quarterly earnings , so a tariff deal would likely cover this aspect. We expect any sort of announcement once Trump finalizes his trade policy with South Korea, which could come as soon as next week.
