As it has done with past series, Apple has uploaded the full opening scene for , giving potential viewers a peek at what to expect from its new crime drama show.

Inspired by the podcast Firebug and created by showrunner Dennis Lehane, stars Taron Egerton ( , ) as a haunted arson investigator working with detective Michelle Calderone, played by Jurnee Smollett ( , ), to chase down a couple of serial arsonists across the Pacific Northwest.

The show also stars Greg Kinnear ( ), John Leguizamo ( ), and Ashley Gudsen ( ).

A true story-turned-podcast-turned-TV show

Here’s how Apple describes the new series:

“Inspired by true events, ‘Smoke’ follows an arson investigator who begrudgingly teams up with a police detective as their race to stop two arsonists ignites a twisted game of secrets and suspicions.”

premiered last week on Apple TV+ with a two-episode debut. New episodes will drop every Friday through August 15.
