
In May the Steam on Linux use hit a recent high of 2.69% and in absolute terms was likely the largest overall Linux user-base ever on Steam. But the June numbers are now available and point to a small dip in the Linux marketshare on a relative basis.

The June results put Steam on Linux at a 2.57% marketshare, which is a 0.12% decline month over month. On a year over year basis it's a decent improvement compared to 2.08% last June .

SteamOS Holo continues commanding around a third of the Linux gamers with SteamOS so far most notably being found on the Steam Deck and increasingly other handhelds.

AMD CPU use among Linux gamers hit 69.0% for June. This is with Steam Deck being powered by a custom AMD APU and AMD hardware being popular with Linux gamers/enthusiasts for being very open-source friendly. Meanwhile when looking at the Windows-only Steam Survey numbers, Intel is at 60% to AMD at 39% CPU marketshare.

AMD GPU use also continues to dominate among Linux gamers.
